K. L. Graywill's Typeable Conlang Script

This is a conlang script you can type with, using your computer or tablet. The script comes in standard OTF/TTF font files which work with a standard English keyboard, but you can apply it to your conlang as you see fit. You can also watch my YouTube walkthrough on how to build your own conlang fonts or join my Patreon where I release a new conlang font to my patrons every month.

About Pointed Runes

  • Background: Pointed Runes is a fictional language writing system with a universal runic look, although it does not contain actual Germanic runes. This font would be great for some kind of medieval language!
  • Writing System: Abugida (all standard letters on the English keyboard, some basic punctuation, no numerals)
  • Special Features: Uses ligatures - all vowels have standalone forms, but if you type a vowel (a, i, or u specifically - e and o are regular characters) immediately after a consonant, it will automatically join them into their combined form.

INSTALLATION: Most modern operating systems will automatically install the font once you open the TFF/OTF file. (They will come in a zipped folder.) You will want to search “how to install font on [your computer type]” if you need further instructions. My conlang fonts are just like any other custom fonts, so you should be able to use them on most computers and tablets. You’ll find them in the font dropdown list of any word processing program (e.g. wherever you go to change the font from Helvetica to Times New Roman). You may need to close and reopen whatever program you’re using before the font appears in the dropdown. For exact procedures, you are best off looking for guides based on your specific operating system. For some fonts you may want to experiment with the line and character spacing to achieve your desired aesthetic.

Works in: Any word processing software (Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) and may also work in browser programs or applications that allow you to upload custom fonts. Custom fonts, in general, have limited mobile functionality - best used on a computer.
.OTF & .TTF filetype.
